From the earlier Phanomen generation (c. 1898-1899) this example of genre 7501 has a familiar pinched-in, four-sided classical shape. A very similar shape (same decor) is shown in "LOETZ AUSTRIA 1900" (Waltraud Neuwirth) on page 257, plate 271. The one in the book has a wide, flat rim, but the same basic shape and decor. Unfortunately the Neuwirth photo is in black and white, or else the color could be confirmed as well. There is always Loetz.com to collaborate with, and their examples of 7501 have similar coloring. I really like this vase, even though it is only medium sized. I'm still looking for a larger example! Wish wish wish! This one is very good.
