This is the 1946 AMI 'Model A' jukebox that my dad bought about a dozen years ago for his 1950's party room. Dad's gone now, but his jukebox still belts out the tunes.
It was the first jukebox after WWII to use a huge amount of plastic and became know as the "mother of plastic"
It plays 78 rpms and has a big rich sound which is at 'eye level....or should I say, ear level?' because the speaker (just one large speaker) is mounted at the top of the box rather than below like most jukeboxes.
....and yes there is one of the colored light tubes (right side) that I need to replace.

I'm no expert, and of course the condition has everything to do with the price,..but I would say that price sounds good. They are a real classic and an icon when it comes to the use of early plastic. And, for what it's worth, they have one at the Smithsonian. I'd say buy it!

....also, I know that my dad paid a lot more than 2.5k for his in fully restored condition
