Here is the (large) Quezal Heart & Vine vase I referred to in my "Imperial FreeHand H&V" posting, and it IS one of my favorites. The golden iridescent finish isn't as orange as the IFH vase, and it's more buttery and subtle too. It is also a little uneven (see photo 3) and is less iridescent on the top third. This is what happens sometimes when you make a 14" tall monster like this vase, but Quezal did have some issues with quality control; especially in their later production. I guess that's why experts usually prefer the earlier "numbered" examples. This one ain't bad though! The design is very well executed, and the finish (although a little uneven) is spectacular. I have seen Quezal H&V on ebay that didn't get a lot of respect, and I'm wondering why. Should I look for a bigger, better one? Will I find it?
Enjoy!
