I know very little about this little purse. The tag inside it reads (top to bottom)
Made in Italy (in english)
then a square that has the following inside it:
Genuine
Red emblem I can't make out
Leather
Below the square made in Italy is written in French
Inside the purse were three large cents. One is dated 1827, one is 1852 and the third is unreadable. The two I can read the dates on were bored out to use as a necklace. One has a round hole and the other is a cross shape that appears to have been done with a punch.
Any input will be appreciated.

Any sterling marks on the metal bit?
I didn't notice any marking at all except the tag. I did look at it with a loop but don't recall whether I examined the inner metal. I will have a look.
Thank you mikko & amber for the loves. I can't say I am terribly fond of it.
