Hi All
This is a Modern Mechanics Magazine from May 1932. It has many topics on how to build things that would be useful instead of buying. An article shows plans on how to build your own small airplane.
In 1932 The Great Depression was effecting everyone. How someone could afford 25 cents for this magazine is beyond me. 25 cents calculates to a present value to $3.95 today. Coins then were (SILVER).
A silver pre 1964 quarter is presently worth $4.94 today. (melt value)
A gallon of gasoline is about $3.35 !
May 1932 ! There were ideas that there would be war with JAPAN.
Statements in the magzine say that " Only about one Japanese in ten thousand can ever be taught to fly an airplane". and "There apparently isn't a brain cell working in the whole of Japan" Page 49.
