Here is my USMC Military police arm band. I believe this is WWII.
(Story is the guys great uncle was in a Marine in WWII)
But could possibly be Korean war era. Its a cool item. This one has snaps on the back to adjust the size. I'v seen others that just used saftey pins.

That was officially called a "brazzard". They transitioned quite a bit over the years. I still have mine from the army from when I was transferred to work for U.S. Customs. Back then planes were getting hijacked to Cuba all the time and many of us did customs and air Marshall duty.
I think you have your dates about right for the one you posted. The more recent ones go up the arm in kind of a bell shape so it can be kept in place better. As I recall they did away with brazzards in the 1970's and went to badges.
