British Railways WW11 steel helmet. The lady who handed this over stated it belonged to her husband who was a Clerk Controller on the railways during the war. Would have organised cargo/munitions and passenger distribution. Helmet has slightly visible details of previous job under the top layer of paint, but I can't quite read it.
