Odd shaped clay container. No marks. Looks handmade. 1 " hole in top had cork stopper. Use unknown. bottom is about 8 inches deep from top hole.
Purchased at a local college that was clearing out basement of very old junk items
I have been able to determine that this was used for distilling a liquid. The vapors produced were directed to a cooling device, usually a glass or copper coil cooled with water.vapors condensed to a liquid.
I have posted here as there is no subject for the topic of science.
I am not going to say what it looks like :-) But it is interesting
