Preface notes: Part one presents a progressive series of lessons in elementary processes with small numbers. Part two is devoted to elementary processes with larger integral numbers. Part three presents elementary processes with fractional numbers, common and decimal, and their more practical applications. "The entire book is carefully adapted to the capability of the pupils in the several grades for whom it is designed, and the fact is kept in mind that many of these pupils will not continue in school after the fifth school year."
