This is a old wicker trunk . I have photo'd the hinges and anything that would help date it . It is about 3 ft long 2 1/2 ft tall . The Lizard for Mikie represents about 12-14 inches . To hot to measure it today in sun .
Mikie always sticks up a creature so spook me so I opened this trunk and he was inside !!!!!!

yeah I wasn't laughing I jumped back LOL It had been stored in a old house for many years with him inside Sean :-)
Trunkman Thank You ! Do you have any idea of age of this trunk ?
Thank you Mikko :-))))))))
What've is the lizards name?
Hi Manikin -- I was trying to figure that out. It looks turn of the century, say early to late 1900's, but that is a bit of a guess. I am not familiar with this type of trunk. I have never seen either the hinges or the latches. The latches have a French or European look to them. It is in fabulous shape for its age. Very nice indeed!
Are the latches and hinges cast iron or steel?
The lizard will enjoy the heat, did you leave him outside to scare the neighbours?
LOL walksoft he is guarding the rummage sale we are having :-)
Trunkman the latches are metal not steel
They almost look like copper with the green patina. If they had been cast iron then they may have been a little older. I think your lizard may have part chameleon blood -- he seems to be blending in quite well...
Manikin,
Could you take a look at a picture of a rare Osborne Ivorex for me? I could use your expertise.
Thank you Scandi :-) xx
Love the Lizard, Mani. he sets it off.:-)
Thank you Kerry :-)
Mikie this lizard is for you !
SO THATS WHERE RANGO WENT!! see u got my present Mani. yuk, yuk. Sorry it took me so long to find this, that darn "who is it?" game has my fingers bleeding, along with my brain.Still working on the right item for the next round. This is a NICE, larger wicker chest. hard to imagine the hours of work there. Wicker is amazing (i think anyway). Ok Mani, take care. AND, DONT FORGET TO FEED RANGO, he preffers cute dolls, but being a lizard, he will eat just about ANYTHING!! (evil laugh) LOL
Mikie I thought I told you to keep your gremlins locked in your office . He arrived in a huge trunk and nothing else in it . He is standing guard by my front door watching for doll snatchers . What does he eat by the way ? People ???????
Thank you Brattjdd, and Hedge :-) so glad to see you both !
