Christophe…
(1 item)
This has been around since I was very young 50 years + or so.
I acquired it as my folks are packing up and moving.
No one knows what this is.
There is no suitable category listed to include this in.
The top opens as if to put in some oil or something that might burn or something to be aromatic.
The top bowl is hinged and pivots and the lid is hinged also.
I have not found any markings or numbers or any engraving.
What is this ?
What is it worth ?
Thank you Christopher

Hi ChristopherIan2012. I'm not sure, but it looks like an older type of whale oil lamp. I've seen some with similar designs. You might want to google a search for "brass whale oil lamps" and see if you can find one like it. I found this one, but there are a lot of other styles out there:

Some of the older ones were made in some pretty interesting styles. As to worth, I haven't a clue. I'm sure someone will stop by that may know exactly what it is and what to call it. Good luck in your search! :-)
This isn't a free appraisal website, sorry
SOLVED Whale oil lamp Yes Thank you ChinaBlue
