    An amazing brise fan of Chengal wood and sandalwood from Malaysia, which was probably used in religious ceremonies,is strung together with fine thread. The handle part is of very fine grained Chengal wood with incredible carvings of a double peacock design -(or Pertala Indera Maha Sakti). The sticks are of pierced sandalwood (with patterns vaguely resembling feathers,) spread out to form a tail. The carved guards of serpentine form terminate in a five-headed snake.
