    Hello,

I got this watch from my father when I was little, he kept save it for many years and gave it back to me recently, he must have it save for more than 30+ years.

I have been wondering the origin of its design. The Mickey Mouse seems drew by hand, what amazed me is the type of clothing that seems like the 30's era, it has a red dos, the Mickey is holding a flower in had, and using a cane.

I am not sure is this watch belongs to the "hippie" Mickey design, or what. Would love to hear if someone knows about this watch design,

    Thank you!

      Hello Dahila11,
You have a piece from the earlier 1970's and some refer to it as Mickey, but i don't believe it is. I've seen a couple of these and not sure of the artist, but there is a female version of this character, known as "Piggy". The "Piggy" watch is the same mouse character, with the differnce in the clothing and it is "Animated" with the head rocking back and forth as the seconds click off. I'm sure it's some character from a cartoon from somewhere other than the US. These are few and far in between and are desireable to "Character" watch collectors. This appears to be a very clean example. Sorry I couldn't be more definative on the character itself. I have several reference books on the subject and descriptions of almost every watch made. I have found references and photos of the other(Piggy), which is the same artist drawing, only female. Lovely watch and a true family heirloom, as per your father gifting it to you, then holding on to it for so long for safe keeping. The "love" envolved, makes it priceless.
      Best Regards, Kerry

Sorry Dalila11 for misspelling your screen name. Old eyes and small print. BTW, like the profile picture. Great automobile.

      Thank you very much Kerry,
You really enlighten me with your description. I enjoyed your knowledge and mastery in the subject. I will definitely keep the watch!
I won't close the case just yet in case someone know the name of the artist.

      Thank you very much!
