Here is an unusual advertising watch in that the advertisement is a metal disc inserted in the back cover.
It is a watch by The E. Ingraham Co. that was packaged and marketed by the Aristocrat Clock Co. Fifth Ave. N.Y.. From the little I have been able to find out about the Aristocrat Clock Co., they were just a marketing company and did not manufacture clocks or watches they sold. I have both clocks and pocket watches packaged and marketed by them.
This Watch however is a E. Ingraham Companion Sweep Second pocket watch manufactured in 1953 (noted by the 53 marked on the movement). It is in the Aristocrat Clock Co. box.
The advertising is for Michigan Clark Equipment showing their Front Loader. Here is a little history on the Clark Equipment Co.
Clark Equipment Co., formed in 1916 and named after Eugene Clark, a mechanical engineer with the Illinois Steel Co., he was not a big player in the earthmoving equipment industry. However, what makes the Clark Equipment Co. significant was its development of the lift truck and its dominance in the wheel loader market through the early part of the 1950s. Clark’s wheel loaders, marketed under the Michigan brand name, left an undeniable mark on the industry.
