marx toy car from 1920 ish lol im not sure missin the lil feller in the driver seat but other than that it still winds up and hauls but across the floor

If I didn't know any better I would probably say 30s, since it has that pre-war flair to it. Many toys, by the time this was made, had become rather flamboyant and gaudy (IMO), so I can't fault you too much ;)
There is no better way to learn than by making a mistake.
