I picked these up for a song at a thrift shop in Alameda. I don't know what they were used for, but i really like them alot. i've used some of them in some collage pieces i made. They aren't really paper dolls, but stickers. Beautifully made!

Hi, ho2cultcha! When I first saw these, I assumed that they were what is called 'scrap'. I provide a link below with general information on scraps. I am fascinated, however, by your assertion that these are stickers. Do you wet them, then affix them? Most scrap was pasted into a scrapbook, or glued to greeting cards, or used in craft projects. I am no expert!!!, but I have seen none with ready-to-go fixative on the back. Also, your scraps still have great color and gloss! Something to be coveted. So glad you posted this. I highly recommend D. Blumchen & Co. (online link in the link provided below.) for scraps and related materials - also for ideas. They are masters of the art of scrap. Also, look into Martha Stewart's features on scrap. I have spent many delightful hours admiring her uses of scrap.

      hi mikko.
these do have what looks like glue on the backside but it's sticking power isn't very good. they usually fall off after a couple days. thanks for the link.
