I acquired my first piece of Bretby Art pottery about 20 years ago. I's one of the three-sided pieces in the first photo. It has a flown glaze with metallic highlights. There was an instant attraction. I had no idea that it was as old as it is. I discovered that a couple of old pieces that had been on my Grandparent's mantle, are Bretby pottery, as well. It's been in my life since I was a child. I'm particularly drawn to the flowing glazes and the purposefully pinched and prodded shapes. I just opened a cupboard and snapped away for the first three photos, so there may be some Beswick pottery mixed in. Hope you enjoy!
