This is an unusual real photo postcard that shows a boy on his front porch with his toy locomotive pedal vehicle.

This must have been an expensive toy for the era!

The lomotive has many features seen on actual train locomotives. Additionally, the boy is holding his oil can in his hand.

The postcard was postally used and is dated "1907".

Boy I'll say! These folks must've been wealthy.

He would have needed rails to put it on, he would have had a lot of friens all of a sudden.
Scott check out this link, that train has historical significance, the lettering is different but overall a close match. It was probably produced by several companies, or this company changed it over time.

Fantastic. I bet that locomotive was pretty heavy too!

Good "eye", eye4beauty, did you notice the streamers on the smokestack?
    5. walksoftly walksoftly, 12 years ago
Yes, there can be a downside to seeing to much detail.

Thanks for the link walksoftly-- it may have been made by the same company.

Mine has "20th Century" on the cab.

This was made to ride in the yard like any other peddle vehicle of the time.

I would have to agree that it is the same company, just changed the name.
I was just kidding about the rails, his friends probably pushed him around hoping that they would get a turn at the controls.
