Added a nice early piece to my collection last week, a 1904 Lillian Nordica Coca-Cola bookmark. I acquired this through an eBay BIN request which can be a double-edged sword. Picture was poor quality, but I calculated that the risk was worth it. Well, upon delivery, I found the book mark had a 3/4" tear across the middle, which was not described by seller. I decided I was happy to have it regardless. The tear may hurt value, but doesn't affect display, she looks great. This piece looks to have been framed decades ago and it was quickly put up on the wall. I grouped it with my other earliest pieces near Command Central: pre-1900 coupon and 1905 Lillian Nordica coupon-ad.
Hope everybody has a great week.

Now thats sweet Dave, nice find!! And the tear should'nt bother you, it's likely not noticeable to anybody but you, and likely could be easily fixed by a paper conservator! Is it on acid-free mat I hope?Out of direct sunlight? See what we're learning from the "Master" Early!!
Hope you had a good week-end too buddy, I was down in Erie,Pa for "Roar to the Shore", had a blast!!
Thanks for the tips pickrknows. You're right, I should probably have it conserved and reframed some day.
Dang Dave, I was watching this too. You got a great piece there!
Thanks Signaholic. When it first came up, I sent a BIN request, then there were bids placed, so I figured no dice. But seller came back a couple days later and asked for an offer. I threw out 2 and it was accepted. I think with that mid piece tear and a smaller one at top, I probably paid retail value or a little over. But again, I'm totally satisfied, I've taken a run at a few of these over the years with no luck. And it was framed to boot, so works for me! Always great to hear from you my friend.
