This is a machine made embroidery made during the early 20th century in northern France in one of the several factories in that region producing tapestry works for both the export and domestic market. It is not possible to differentiate between the works of the different factories unless they are labeled (and they seldom are) as the out put from the all was very similar indeed. Huge numbers of tapestries were made as it was a sizeable industry. Although you state that this is in good condition it has, in fact, faded significantly and this has a effect on the value. Originally this would have been a brightly colored piece with reds greens, blues and other colors all competing for attention. It is now a blend of browns. This has been caused by lengthy exposure to direct sunlight.
