I love this piece and it works perfectly. My favorite aunt gave it to me one day. You put in the paper you want to type and press the lever to scroll the page up, so you only see one line at a time. You can also select the width of the writing. My problem is that I can't seem to find any further info on it as I haven't seen another like it yet. The writing on it is as follows:
    ErrorNo Prevents Errors
    The Dawn Mfg. Co.
Division of the Hall-Welter Co. Inc.
    Rochester N.Y. U.S.A.
Can anyone help me with this?

      Hi Sheri,
I have one of these exactly as shown. As with you, my favorite Aunt gave it to me years ago and I just re-discovered it when I moved. While trying to find some information on this I found your post. I can not find any other reference. Did you every find any additional information?

Wow, someone else actually has one!
No, I have never been able to find any info on it. Strange isn't it?

That is called a copy holder. It was designed to allow a document to be proof read one line at a time. Probably made in the 1930's or 40's.
