DASPICKSTER
(27 items)
Here's another item I picked this Saturday.
It's an old Session Mantel Clock. Seller told me it came from an old barn and that it never ran ever since he found it on the property. I got it for almost nothing with the intentions to use it for parts to sell. When I got it home to disasemble last night I found out why it stopped running.
As with all old wind up clocks no one evers uses the correct oil for them when that time occurs. If it ever occurs. This clock was oiled with 80 weight gear lube I think. Everything was stuck. I had to boil the entire workings in a pot of boiling water for almost 2 hours before all the gook let go. Then it went to take a bath in about 2 quarts of Mobil 1 0w20 motor oil. "THANK YOU TIC TOC TONY FOR THE ADVISE".
The chime mainspring is shot but replaceable and the minute hand is missing but easy to find. I got it cranked back up on my makeshift jig and she's ticking her happy self away after being in "LIMBO" for over 60 plus years. Enjoy America and Gods Speed! Daspicksters.
