I am sitting here listening to Sha Na Naa "Get a Job" as I post these . Just a couple I had on hand upstairs to share . My cabinet is old 1950's record cabinet meant for LPs it lifts up and closes with LP's in upright position how they should be stored never flat .It is all Elvis in there . Musik has me inclined to get downstairs at my 45's .
Sha Na Na is an American rock and roll group. The name is taken from a part of the long series of nonsense syllables in the doo-wop hit song "Get a Job", originally recorded in 1957 by the Silhouettes

Billing themselves as "from the streets of New York" and outfitted in gold lamé, leather jackets, and pompadour hairdos, Sha Na Na performs a song and dance repertoire of classic fifties rock and roll, while simultaneously reviving and sending up the music and 1950s New York street culture.

Mikie I was there :-) did you see me on your steam TV <grin> heck I didn't have a TV till I was 34 . Did not believe they were needed and my kids never complained . They climbed tree's and I worked 2 jobs .
Was it hard shoveling all that coal to keep TV on long enough to watch whole show or did it cut off and you missed me :-(

Nice collection Mani and good idea keeping them in poly liners, as over time they get "ring wear" on the covers when touching paper to paper. I guess subtle vibration causes this. I have bought many collections that have yellowing from cigarette smoking in homes. Always keep in dry areas as they are magnets for moisture and mold, I purchased a collection that made me half sick from mold spores, and had to put the on CL freecycle site to get rid of them. Have a safe and happy 4th celebration Mani.

@ Matty . This is just a few . I try to keep them always standing up also so they don't warp . When I mean upstairs and down stairs I have 2 story house . I have had some that smelled of mildew but it disappeared when left out . I keep them in covers . I love the old record stand when you pull down on it you can see Lp's and then it closes to keep them upright and clean :-) I am now getting in mood to turn on the ole turn table and burn a few more to cd :-)))))
