This is another family item from my Grandmother. I believe it to be about 100 years old and originally contained candy and as I understand a ribbon of some kind.
The bottom reads & GEO BORCFELDT & CO NY around the edge, KEWPIE Reg US Pat Off Des.Pat.43580 in the middle and Serial No. 2862 Net Wt. 3/4 Oz.
There is some damage to the wings on the back of the neck but they almost appear to be worn off as there are no sharp edges.
And as much as I would have liked I guess grandma was determined to leave not even a trace of candy for me.

Thanks to TallCakes I have found the lid to this little candy cup. For as long as I can remember this slotted lid has not been on this Kewpie and just this year I thought of tossing it out because it was useless. Thank you again TallCakes!

your Kewpie piece was made by Westmoreland Specialty Co.,ca 1915; originally a candy container, the tin lid had a coin slot. also found in toothpick books as toothpick holder
