Woodstock 2 is the second live album released of the 1969 Woodstock Festival concert. The 2-LP set contains more material from many acts featured on the first Woodstock album with additional performances from Mountain and Melanie. I will not post front cover .

Woodstock 2 was originally released in 1971 as a double LP
Woodstock Music & Art Fair (informally, Woodstock or The Woodstock Festival) was a music festival, billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music". It was held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre (2.4 km²; 240 ha, 0.94 mi²) dairy farm in the Catskills near the hamlet of White Lake in the town of Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Bethel, in Sullivan County, is 43 miles (69 km) southwest of the town of Woodstock, New York, in adjoining Ulster County.

During the sometimes rainy weekend, thirty-two acts performed outdoors in front of 500,000 concert-goers.[2] It is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history. Rolling Stone called it one of the 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.[3]

The event was captured in the 1970 documentary movie Woodstock, an accompanying soundtrack album, and Joni Mitchell's song "Woodstock", which commemorated the event and became a major hit for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

I remeber back in around 1974 Joni's double album came out miles of aisles. I loved Janis and was heavily into Janis Joplin in the late 60's to early 70's and some of the live albums with her at woodstock I played all the time. Would have been nice to know of this album. None of my friends seemed to have it either. Did you get it cheap lately ? Now I am thinking if I saw this in a record shop now, they would want at least 50 bucks, if not 80.

I have had it for many many years Phil . I sure don't remember when I got it . I did serious LP collecting for quite awhile back about 20 years ago . It was one I kept for some reason . I think a person could get it cheap these days as so many have forgot Woodstock and Lps for ipods

  12. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
I think Joe smoked the whole field before he performed that day and this was a big "love in" in public I think . I doubt many noticed the mud .
Thank you Mikie . Yes I was a Nam Nurse and Yes I think that is when drugs took off in USA . But that is just my 2 cents worth . I never heard of LSd and heroin until then and the after effects can last a lifetime for the ones that used it to cover their feelings about being in a war and not by choice they were drafted unlike today's war's . And were not supported at home . I will always love all my Nam guys and Thank them all . I lost many friends in that war .

Seeing this album and Vol. 1 gives me serious flashbacks....

    "Were you at Woodstock, man?"

"No... but I did trip for the Dead!"

(guess you had to be there. I *think* I was....)

So many years ago. And so many brain cells. How did we survive?

Peace and beads, baby ~ love did it!

    Despite Melanie <ptui>
