These 2 necklaces were restrung from "beads in bags" given to me by my sister's mother-in-law Frances who had an amazing antique/junk store until she passed away in 2011. When I visited my sister in a small MO town - I had to go to the store Frances & Paul ran downtown. Usually stayed there all day hanging out and absorbing info on the antiques they had and they loved me too because I wanted to know everything they knew - and I have a big collection of antiques/junk too.
A few years ago at Christmas Frances called me that a 20lb pkg. was coming my way - and it was full of BEADS! broken, unbroken, jars, bags - amazing glass beads in all sizes and shapes. First: I made a long flapper length (32") w/best black glass beads for Frances. Next: 18" amethyst purple in so many gorgeous sizes (most traditional restringing) and shapes for her 3 granddaughters so they would have something from her. These are 2 necklaces I restrung to their original glory (best I can tell) - aren't they gorgeous!

How cool is that! I also like to salvage and restring old necklaces. It seems such a waste to just let them lay around broken.
Thank you - I like to restring them to their original but sometimes add and extender since choker-length is hard to wear unless you are a teenager....
Thank you AmberRose, pencapchewdraw and vintagemad for loving these. I remembered how much I enjoy old glass beads again today after looking at latest CW posts.
