i just got this lovely limoges teapot today. it is white with flowers and gold trim. it measures 9.5 in tall. there are no chips or crazing but after careful examination i noticed the handle had been repaired.
i liked it because it has a simple country charm to it. i don't know much about limoges porcelain, i only have a few items that say limoges.
this teapot has 2 backstamps on the bottom and just my luck they are stamped right on top of each other!!
the first backstamp is a green circle that says limoges B & H france then the second backstamp says limoges france only and it is stamped on a zepplin or flying balloon.
hooray!! lol, now i know what i have! my simple country teapot is a genuine antique from around the 1890s.
i purchased some limoges cups at the same time but i am pretty sure they are not from the same pattern as this teapot. i will post pics of them also. thank you for looking....love this site!
