I love the early pinback airborne wings!

    Is it maker marked?

Thanks for the reply and love Scottvez. All are marked sterling, but unfortunately none have a makers mark.

    Thanks for the loves everyone.

AR8Jason, I actually have 3 of those, they are all 3" long. 2 are the "long pin" and 1 is "pinback?".

Two styles are known as "pinback" (long pin with a catch) and "clutchback" (small short pins that have clutches or grommets).

I have seen aviator wings in both styles that are WW2 era. I don't recall airborne wings of WW2 era made as clutchback.

MANY of the WW2 aviator wings are reproduced in pinback form as they are eagerly collected and command good prices.

Thanks for the replies Scott and Jason.

I actually have a "clutchback" and "long pin" of both the aerial gunner and crew member wings. I will make a post show the front and back of them.

Correction... I guess the 2 "crew member" pieces are both "clutchback".
