This is a Ingersoll stop watch manufactured in Great Britain.
"The Yachtsman"
Even though Ingersoll marketed to the average person, they didn't want to leave the more affluent out. If you were fortunate enough to own a racing yacht and wanted to time your race, Ingersoll said, "this is the watch for you".
Inside the small brochure is printed the operating instructions.
How to operate the INGERSOLL 'YACHTSMAN'
The Yachtsman timer by Ingersoll is designed to enable you to see at a glance the number of minutes and seconds to go before the race starts and then to time the race.
Cover illustration shows winding button (A) and robust stop-start mechanism (B). The figure 0 on the dial indicates the start of the race.
The Yachtsman can be pre-set to synchronize with the starter's clock, so that the large hand reaches zero when the starting gun is fired.
To Use: wind the timer and stop it by sliding the stop-start knob down-wards with the seconds hand pointing to 0. Select the length of time up to 60 minutes before the race is due to start at which you wish to synchronize the timer with the starter's clock. Set the Yachtsman at this number of minutes before zero (depressing the winding button to adjust the large hand). When the starter's clock reaches the selected time, slide stop-start control upwards. The final 10 and 5 minute periods and the last 5 seconds are specially picked out on the dial.

Dave,
I had one of these years ago and it was miss-labeled a bomb timer as is, 10-9-8-7-6- and so on until “boom”. This clears it up. Thanks for posting it.
