I picked up this piece at a local Salvation Army and thought it was interesting. The painting is 7.25" wide x 9.5" high and is painted on a piece of wood. With the frame, the dimensions are 15.5" wide x 17.5" high.

On the back of the frame, there is a stamp that seems to read "ILCMU EN MEXICO" with the number 700 underneath.

On the lower right corner of the painting, it is signed "N. Meyer".

Does anyone know anything about this piece, the artist and or if it is worth anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

My guess is the "ILCMU" is really I=H, L=E, C=C, M=H, and U=O. Parts of each of the letters are missing. The word is HECHO meaning "made in Mexico".
It says style 700. Probably from an art factory. I wouldn't attribute more than a decorator value.
