This is exactly what the title implies. A box of junk I bought at a timed auction for 7.50 and paid more for shipping of course.
The first marble plinth was not in the box but part of a larger marble obelisk that was not being used or admired much any more, so I took it apart and used the 4 inch base, all I had to do was take it apart and gloss the top which was unfinished, and it looks like an expensive base !!~
The box was bought for the "marble" bases that the lamps had. Now that they are unpacked there was no damage to the piece. I asked the auctioneer to send me the bases and throw away the rest. Not sure what they are actually made of . Some stone that has some weight though not much as they are only about 3 inches in height or so.
Should be good for a masot figure of some sort. Here I am trying the airplane which is what I thought, when I bought the bases. I see I will have to re-paint the faux finish on the marble, but I have lots of experience with that. Also will have to make a decent background for photos, used some packing I got in the boxes today !~

Thanks Marty, glad you like, I have rephotographed the bases with my airplane and think its a good fit, but I will have to redo the faux finish on the marble.
Look very very nice Phil on bases . I take it they were not real marble ? But still have a deco look to them . I love how it appears it is taking off in flight . Great job !
Still not sure what they are. Marble or heavier plaster, one or the other. Probaby the plaster kind.
