Hello, thanks for taking a moment to look at what sits over my fireplace in a polished, worn black wood frame w/dove tail corners & a brass 'finial', for lack of a better word. It appears to be hand colored w/inked lines on brown paper. Perhaps it's a woodblock print or not, it could be something else entirely. No matter, it was a gift* from a friend who passed away, it's not going anywhere but I'd like to know more about it. Perhaps someone can read & translate the symbols in the upper right corner? I'm grateful for any info you're willing to give, additionally, I've been unable to identify the artist. Hopefully someone will know something and take the time to fill me in...Happy New Year!
Thanks in advance,
C. Richard G.
* There were other prints that are much smaller and appear to have come from a book/books also. They are scenes of brooks, willows, women, in simple frames, nothing like the one above. Thanks again...
