This crazy dresser has me wondering. Its so unique with what looks like a pull out map drawer, also has a pull out writting table and the top drawer has a secret compartment in the back. Crazy how it has desk features and a mirror on top that swivels. Has some damage, handle missing, mirror has small chunk out of it. But I love it ! My father found it in an old barn about 45 years ago. I wonder if it could be off a ship...any ideas?

I am familiar with turn of the century oak furniture. This is a beauty and my great grandmother had one very similar. The top right cabinet is for ladies hats, but like you I have not seen the draw out desk feature. But back then they made furniture very practical. I would love to have one like yours, because I have a lot of oak this would match. But what is the compartment on the far right that lets out?
