Exquisite and extremely rare QUEZAL Jack-In-The-Pulpit Art Glass vase standing just under 15" tall. Radiant blue iridescence over a translucent green base glass with a bright gold stretched iridescent face.
Signed in silver script on a concave polished pontil: QUEZAL

FWF, this one is for you, I got out the Easter Egg kit and look what happened....
I was under a great deal of pressure many years ago while visiting with Minna Rosenblatt, as only she could apply it and only in the nicest way at her shop on Madison Avenue, "oh Mr. Z this vase belongs in your Quezal collection". So after many hours of contemplation and $$$$ discussion the "check book" came out....it was the most that I'd ever paid at that time for an example of Quezal....to this day, no regrets....
Totally out of this world !!!
p.s. while in NYC did you ever deal with Lillian Nassau ? I remember being in her shop (after being buzzed in ) when she had two 10 foot tall "bouncers" on hand to keep a eye on you.
So let's see if I got this; to be a top-notch collector you need a very large checkbook that's always with you (apparently). To be a top notch art-glass dealer you need to be polite but persistant, and have a couple of 10-foot tall goons on hand at all times. Got it, thanks!
LoetzBuddies & dasullywon, Oh yes, Lillian Nassau, those days of the 10 footers are long gone, you still get buzzed in but it's a gentler and nicer group to do business with....as for the "check book" well that has changed with time also...now days you are required to add more zeros to the number to be a top-notch collector unless you are incredibly lucky....and sometimes you do get lucky....you just have to know when to pull the trigger!!!!
