Here is another dollar watch (maybe a dollar watch sub-category would be nice).
This is a Ingersoll Eclipse watch with a hinge back case, pendent wind & push-pendent set..
The serial number is 9760457 which dates it during 1905.
The patent dates on the movement is:
DEC. 23. 90
JAN. 13. 91
APR. 23. 01
AUG. 9. 04
The inside of the back cover has the guarantee paper, and where it states, DEALER SHOULD FILL IN DATE, it is written in ink, July 20th (dealers initials) 1905 (190 is factory printed, and the 5 is hand written).
In a 1910 advertisement, the Eclipse was listed at $1.05 (Lots of 36 or more, $1.00 each). This is the cost to the dealer.
"Notice" printed on the box, which states, As manufactures of the Eclipse Watch under various United States Patents and Trade Marks owned and controlled exclusively by us, which according to a recent Court Decisions establish our rights and privileges to fix the retail price at One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) and we sell this watch only on condition that the retail dealer will not sell it for less than the One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50).
Thanks for looking,
