I bought the latest issue of ‘Reminisce’ magazine. While flipping through the pages I found an article titled “Ads from the old days” I collect mermaids and the words “Neptune’s Daughter” caught my eyes.
I began reading more closely. To my surprise I read about this great little sterling silver mermaid pin!
It looked SO familiar I ran to my jewelry drawer and sure enough …I OWN THIS LITTLE CUTIE!!!
A friend bought it for me for my birthday back in the 1991 (I know he paid more than 35¢).
I LOVE knowing the history of my vintage items and I loved seeing the ad!
Now I will call my little mermaid Esther, after the great water nymph Esther Williams.
Another friend just informed me that this August 8, 2012 was Esther’s 91st birthday!
So many similarities with this little story…LOVE IT!
Just had to share! :)
