Is there a publishers page in the front of the bible? How old is it? What area of the country is it from? With the name on the front cover, I tend to think it is just his personal copy like a garet bennett bible. If you can add a couple of pictures of the first two pages.

No publishers page on the front sorry. That would make this to easy. I found it in southwest PA. I did find a name below the art work. He was an engraver in the 1800s and if im remembering right died in 1860. Like I said I think the first couple pages are missing becuse the first page that it had is the index then goes right into the first page.

Can you make out the writing on the four corner panels of the front cover ? Is the a KJV or other version.

The 4 corners say SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES FOR IN THEM YE THINK YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE AND THEY TESTIFY OF ME. the back is the same except no James Brene but another name that i can't make out. Also I believe this is a family bible because of the empty photo slots in the back.

You could contact the public libraries in the area it came from and ask their research dept if they list a James Brene. Also local museums. Good luck.
