Although most RS collectors favour the pieces made in the 1900 to 1910 era, I have gradually come to like the RS pieces with the glossy black background. They probably date to the 1920's and 1930's and are very "art deco" in style. This 5 lobed bowl is about 9 inches in diameter, and has 5 copies of the parrot transfer, one per lobe, for a total of ten parrots on one piece of china. I suspect that's a record. The other pieces are part of a tea set decorated with pheasants. The set was split up for sale on eBay a couple of years ago. I won auction #1, the teapot, and auction #2, the cream and sugar set, and auction #3, four 8 inch dessert plates, but some lady in Poland REALLY wanted the 4 cup and saucer sets, and so the set was split up. Oh well!
