ULRICA HYDMAN VALLIEN FOR KOSTA BODA -SWEDEN
BOUGHT THIS ONLINE LAST WEEK . a while ago a vetraio50 had posted a very beautiful indian summer vase from kosta boda , i really had loved his very much , i do remember him saying that these are very hard to fined and hes right . well i happened to fined this on ebay.com and of course , i was the only bidder on this fine piece, with no chips or any kind of damage at all . so this arrived at my home today when i had gotten home from the office. this is 12 inches tall by 5 inches wide as well. designed by ULRICA HYDMAN VALLIEN. So this is part of the indian summer collection. this one is very different from vetraio50s as well. this is signed on the bottom as well kosta boda ulrica hv 80020

thankyou mike for the kind words:)
So this was it? Well done! I love the feathers! It looks to be as large as mine too!
Ulrica described the Indian Summer series as : "in 2000 I began to long for clear glass and the traditional flask shapes with an old technique of pinching that creates a double wall. Indian Summer was a glorious glass series, which did not stay long on the market, partly because the price was too high, partly because the painted figures were unexpected and not as charming as the market might demand."
thankyou very much vetraio50 for the love and sharing the information as well , i do love the indian summer collection.:) thankyou very much vetraio50 for looking and i have to say i love yours as well very much:)
what did these retail when they came out at reg retail?
thankyou for the love eye4beauty:)
thankyou inky for the love:)
My friend Thelma used to work here in Sydney at David Jones - it was she who told me about the series name. She'd sold them here at the time. She had indicated that it was not a cheap item but had not given me an exact price. I know I paid $70 for mine at Vinnies: a reward for making a donation to charity?
Thelma wrote me: There were 5 bottles in series and the description for Indian Summer” is a warm transparent colour scale inspired by the hot season”.
"For Indian Summer, Ulrica Hydman-Vallien developed a new type of paint, giving the glass a warm, transparent feel. The clear-glass bottles are blown in classic blowing-room style and are decorated with plumed figures both male and female."
wow thankyou vetraio50 for the information and sharing this with me as well i love that fact that this are wonderful items to collect as well :) i wonder why these did nt stay on the market that long?
i had paid $50.00 for mine and im not including shipping because that doesnt count.
im guessing at that time im going to say they could have been at least $175-$200.00 regular retail.
thankyou lundy for the love:)
Taste! Public appeal.
Some of her pieces were spectacular successes.
Others were not!
Supply & Demand.
Hand blown and not machine done.
Hand painted.
Too expensive?
Sometimes it pays to collect the less popular, rarer (?) items - the ones that were only short lived.
Hello! Shipping counts especially when you live Down Under!
Shipping determines whether I bid or not!
i totally agree with you vetrio50 and shipping was cheap for me $15.00, so i still paid $65.00 for this beauty:) i do agree with you on the less short lived ones do become rare in time:)i do have 5 more items coming to the house and i think youll love them i have one more ULRICA HYDMAN VALLIEN FOR KOSTA BODA -SWEDEN
