I hope somone knows something about this bottle. It's driving me crazy.
Looks like a vinegar dispenser.
The brown bottle with metalcap is a soy sauce bottle, if the cap has a hole on top. We used those type of bottles only for the natural soy sauce in the 50's.
There's no hole on the top.I have searched for this bottle on the net for over two years. Thanks to the both you.
They forgot to put the hole in the top?! Always seen them used as vinegar bottles, But they had a hole!
No hole, that does add to the mystery.
There may be some clues among the embossing under the bottle. Sometimes this gibberish can tell you who made it and what year it was produced. Maybe this will help, maybe not.
Can you post a pic of the base? I can see what I can find.

I found the bottle.when you said hole in top. I looked closer and it was clogged.I put a toothpick in it and finally got the lid off by soaking it in water and could smell cologne.
