Wonderful items! Re value on the candle holders, hard to say. Prices are very soft on Christmas items now. Would check ebay and Rubylane for pricing info. Candles in box great find, too! Original graphics in great condition. Super!!!
I believe the Kerstboomkaarsen is actually Dutch. The Bougies Noel is French. That suggests a Belgian origin? Any other information on that really cute box?
Hi, all. "Kerstboomkaarsen" is Dutch and perhaps "Flemish", too. Yes, French and 'Dutch' on box could indicate Belgium origin or Belgian market, as befits a country composed of both Walloon and Flemish 'communities'. However, when these candles were produced, products made for distribution in multiple markets would often be labeled in French, even if they weren't produced in France. See Wikipedia's French section in "List of lingua francas" article.

George Johnson's great three-volume work on vintage and antique Christmas items, "Christmas Ornaments, Lights, and Decorations: Collector's Identification & Value Guide", Collector Books, Vol III, treats these weighted candle holders. Photos with values on pp. 244-248. Items and values also discussed in text-only section, "Pendulum-Weighted Candleholders", pp. 229-232. Vol. III was published in 1997, so values not current.
BTW, follows a link to a great website for vintage Christmas items, from Merry The of Belgium. Nothing for sale - just a very fine collection.

Ah, jerichill and Vetraio, I see that Merry The does have this very box in her collection. Ms. The might be able to provide a date range, or tell you something about these. Her email address is: tt_880@hotmail.com. Follows a link to the candle page:
