as well this week i picked this up for next to nothing online and it fresh brand new with box never been out of the box . this is signed and has the original sticker as well . very beautiful vase it is 9 inches tall .
heres some history about Daum france ive pulled up from the web. the last picture is with my other two Daum france pieces as well .

The French Company of Daum crystal is a glass factory founded in 1878 in Nancy in Lorraine in France by Daum brothers.
Following the 1870 war , Jean Daum (1825-1885), notary in Bitche , sells his study and chooses France. He moved to Nancy in 1876 and ready, the same year, the money several times in April and Bertrand, owner of the glass St. Catherine of Nancy, a factory that produces bottles and glassware ordinary. The company does not find its financial equilibrium and Daum is forced to redeem: he invests 50,000 francs 23 March 1878 and became head of a company of 150 workers in a field they know nothing about.
In 1878, he associates his son Auguste (Jean Louis Auguste Daum, born in Nancy Bitche 1853 † 1909). Jean Daum does not know the first success of the company. Upon his death in 1885, Auguste takes sole direction of the glass before being joined in 1887 by his brother Antonin (Jean Antonin Daum, born in 1864 † Nancy Bitche 1930), just graduated from the Central School of Arts and factories .
Before the poor financial health of glassware, Augustus who was trained as a lawyer, is forced to take the lead, after it was bought to save it from bankruptcy. Antonin starts beautify tableware currents. Familiar with the techniques of glass by training, he directs the production to artistic creation. The two brothers prepared between 1889 and 1891 creating an art department that is entrusted to Antonin. Augustus gave him all means work to attend the wake left by Emile Gallé glassware in art nouveau.
Auguste Daum
Auguste Daum was a close friend of the scientist Georges Le Monnier .
Antonin starts with some simple models to continue to burn rapidly with the acid and then moving to models using the techniques of printmaking at the wheel, glass two or three layers. From 1890 to 1914, he creates no less than three thousand references.
Jacques Gruber was the first artist of glassware. Recruited in 1893, he was given the creation of exhibits for inclusion in the World Fair in Chicago in 1893. This was the first big hit that propelled Daum in the circle of art industries. Daum will win the participation at the exhibition of Nancy in 1894. Then there was the exhibition of Lyon (1894), Bordeaux (1895) and Brussels (1895 and 1897), during which they receive awards.
An art school was established in 1897 within the company and form their own designers and engravers.
Henri Bergé is master decorator, is the second artist of the company. He will be joined Emile Writz from 1898.
The consecration of the adventure happens when the first grand prize for the glass of the World Expo 1900 is awarded to Daum and Gallé. Daum presents pieces carefully prepared: the decor spacer (patent 1899), fixtures that become a specialty.
In 1904, Walter Almaric it develops molten glass.
In 1901 the statutes of the School of Nancy are officially laid. Emile Gallé is the man behind this group and became its president. Antonin is vice president. Antonin is also one of the personalities of the Chamber of Commerce Nancy . It plays an important role in 1909 at the International Exhibition of eastern France which marks the end of the School of Nancy. Augustus died in 1909, Antonin was active until his death in 1930 but shares responsibility with the son of Augustus John, Henry and Paul.
Jean died in 1916, Henry is manager as his father. Paul graduated from the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Nancy, it will gradually take the place of Antoninus. The Daum provide after 1918, adapting the company to the new conditions of production, conscious of maintaining quality, technical and aesthetic orientations more utilitarian.
