    Apocalypto…
    (10 items)

This is my favorite piece that I own. I am a Lover and collector of uranium and vaseline glass. This French Seltzer Bottle is in great shape for its age. It has no chips or cracks, just some minor scratches on the bottom. I done a little research on it and from the best I can tell the word "Quessy" is actually a town in France, and I'm pretty sure that A. Barre was the person this bottle was made for. The Telephone number stated on the bottle says 22 so I assume this was for a place of business, most likely a bar. I actually recently found this style of bottle in one of my books. I found it on page 123 in " Standard Encyclopaedia of Pressed Glass 5th edition by Bill Edwards and Mike Carwile." It is simply listed as a French Seltzer Bottle and the book value in this book is $250.00. It also says these bottles were made in the 1920's and made to hold Vichy water and were an important part of the bar scene in that time. I'm wondering if the value of this bottle has increased any since this book was made in 2007.. I just wanted to share this with everyone and I plan to show more of my unique finds for everyone to see.

Thanks for Looking at my post!

This is a piece I found pretty recently and what I'm wondering is if anyone knows what the current value on this bottle might be?

Lovely uranium Seltzer bottle. but if it's green, it's not vaseline. Sorry had to throw that wise crack out there. But seriously, vaseeline glass is a shade of yellow, hence the name. Lovely piece thanks for sharing.

I appreciate the input, but I'm well aware of that. I just said vaseline in the title because it seems that most people call uranium glass vaseline glass. I assumed more people would see this post with the word vaseline instead of uranium.

Wasn't trying to be demeaning and understand completely. Again my apologies for the wise crack. Again very nice piece. Kerry

The way the economy has gone I doubt the value has increased since 2007.It has more likely decreased in value. She is a beaut though !!!!!

I appreciate it and no harm done Kerry. I actually used to always call it uranium glass when the glass is green. In the area I live, no one hardly has any idea what I'm talking about because they think its called vaseline glass. So eventually I got tired of it and started referring to it myself as vaseline glass when I talk to people about it. Sorry for the long comment, just trying to give a better explanation.

It's kind of hard to say on the value. I see where your coming from Hedgewalker, but I could still see it selling for over $250.00 in a auction due to how unique it is. I really have no interest in parting with it however. I even had a friend of mine offer me a Amethyst Northwood Peacock and Urn Master Ice Cream Bowl in trade for it. I love this seltzer to much to do it though.
