Summer after summer I spent countless hours sitting at the table at my grandparents house playing yhatzee and monopoly on rainy days.

I spent hours watching the clock and the time go by....

For as long as I can remember my grandma only ever had one clock in her kitchen. As they grew old they had to downsize and move into a seniors apartment. They asked all of us grandchildren if there were any specific items we would like, and the first thing that came to my mind was grandmas clock. It now hangs on my kitchen wall, to the average person it is nothing special but to me, its holds so many precious memories that tie me back to my grandparents.

I have NEVER come across another clock like it, and searching google etc I have never been able to find another one.

I am just curious if anyone out there knows any history at all about this clock? I would be very interested in learning about it. It has the name Deko Quartz.

Thank you for taking the time to read my submission :)

Family pieces are always the best. As far as the age and history of this clock, I would date it in the 1980's. The first quarts movement clock was made in 1927, but these were bulky and large clocks, The commercial usage of quartz movement didn't appear until the late 1960's. I could give you a better idea if you would post a photo of the back of the clock showing the basic constustion of the movement itself. thanks for sharing you family heirloom.
