Does anyone know anything about what this small flask may have been used for? It came from my grandfather's stuff. He was in WW II. We cannot get the top off without damaging it at this point. It appears there was something on the side of it or it was attached to something at one time. Any info would be appreciated. I don't have the dimensions but it is shown in the photo next to a regular glass coaster. It has no markings that can be found other than the graphic on the front.

I think that's what it may be, a striker flask. I no longer am thinking it's a military item. Thank you mrmajestic1
