I have come across this wedgwood jasperware platter, which is 9 inches in length. I have managed quite easily to date it via various sites on the internet, but I am struggling to find out if it is actually worth anything or should I simply send it to the charity shop. I am in the middle of clearing out a elderly relatives belongings and have come across many old and rather unusual items, I came across this website just today so quickly joined and am asking for help on most of the items. Many I feel will eventually go to a major auction house eventually, but in the mean time I need to ensure that my contents cover on my home insurance is up to date, having taken all these items, some of them may be of great value which means I shall need to notify my insurance company.
Should anyone have knowledge of Wedgwood or Jasper Ware please do get in touch, as I also have a Pink octangle wedgwood plate that is earlier than this one. It has either a transfer or has been hand painted (I do not know when transfers started to be used, which is why I do not know if it is painted or a transfer) although it does look like a transfer, to be honest!
If anyone can help in placing a value on this item for me, I would be very grateful. Also, are these quite rare as most of the Jasper Ware I have seen is Blue.
