This is a heavy cast metal base alarm clock by Seth Thomas. I'm not sure of the manufacture date, but on the back, is a jewelers mark of 1-19-20.
The Seth Thomas Trade Mark is in the alarm dial and the bottom of the clock dial is marked:
MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Thanks for looking,
Dave

I just bought a similar clock at an antique show. Cast iron with similar movement but base is different. Where on the clock did you find the jewelers mark?

peterk, The jewelers mark I referred to is the date 1-19-20 lightly scratched on the back of the case showing when the jeweler serviced or repaired the clock.

Ok thanks, not really part of the original then?

I did find a picture of an identical clock later this afternoon on another
site (antiqueseththomasclocks.com) . It had this listed as a "long Alarm"
model C.1906. The alarm would supposedly ring for as long a 15 minutes.

My clockworks are similar but with a different base. I finally found a photo that identified it as an "Owl Alarm" made to complement the Long Alarm.
