I bought this at a church sale for 15 $, I thought it was so rad, looked very old and Im thinking its maybe a handbag? It seems to be made of wood, carved decrative edges, the leaves are on a covering that is over the wood, the top is a latch and there are tiny screws used to hold on the latch and the bottom pieces, that was what made me think this was original and an older item. Its been sitting in my room for a couple years and im just wondering if anyone has any info on it? Thanks =)

I would guess that it was a salesman's sample bag. It probably had some kind of inserts that held whatever goods they were peddling.
Thanks =)
