The action twins hood ornament, 1931. As the wind or even a hand moves the propeller, the twins move up and down as they crank the whirlygig propeller. A design in motion.
Well it has been 6 years since Bonhams had one of these for sale and it is the last time of record seeing a complete one for sale, or even one of merit. When I first seen one on T.V. on the Storage Wars, "Driving Miss Barry" episode I was captivated.
I had to have one and decided to collect hood ornaments in July after seeing the image on a repeat show. So here it is, my action twins hood ornament - the reason for my collection and my prize !!
I love it - very expensive but a good one. The good ones are hard to find and Bonhams are the most expensive place, but for the rarity a good price. A beautiful Art Deco car hood ornament.

It's a cool piece. Love storage wars too.
Thanks Dick, I like storage wars, the items, the people are all aholes, very rude and the guy who is supposed to be a collector, always throws everything around like junk. Barry is a disgrace also. The guy who found it ( Yup )is obnoxious.
lol on the aholes ....its all just for tv ....And us suckers as J C Feilds would say..
Very nice colletion ...
great....
Thanks pawis, thank you Roycroft.
These are being reproduced by a man in Michigan. Better look very closely.
Slackjack, you must be slack if you don't think I do not know. Mine are by the action ornament company, originals. The guy you refer to is bob, and he has not been selling them to my knowledge, he has made nice ones but never finished a model from what he has told me. I know a fake when I see one slack.
I prefer to confer with the experts before I buy and they approve what I imagine is real, before I buy. Even if the seller is a world famous auction company I will always try to confer with an expert, preferably the ones who write books.
Also Bonhams will usually acknowledge a fake, although if they think it is real, like most auction companies, they will not change their opinion, even if it is from a real expert, much like Christies, or Sothebys, who also have had their share of selling known fakes.
Thank you for the loves musikchoo, pickrknows, bratjdd, pawis, ttomtucker, Roycroftbooksfromme1, toolate2, kerry10456, gargoylecollector, dickweedrules, sarahoff, & thisoldwatch !~
