As a practicing Artist, here I return to my first love: Drawing; the foundation (I believe) of all good visual art.
For my practice, belief in, and promotion of fine drawing I was honoured by being nominated and elected to the professional drawing body; The Society Of Graphic Fine Art (London); Which has been "home" to many notable British Artists since it's inception in 1919:

This box is from my personal collection of functional and used artist's equipment, and means a great deal to me!
It is the:
"GEORGE ROWNEY & CO.S STUMPING PALLETTE BOX for DRAWING SCHOOLS & CLASSES":
It dates from early to mid 20th C. It is made from untreated Teak and has a felt pad on the flat lid to wipe the dust from your charcoal, graphite stick or pencil.
Amongst the original contents, which I try not to use; are: Charcoal sticks wrapped in tissue, a glass vial of graphite or charcoal dust sealed with a cork, a brass charcoal & stump holder, stumps and "tortillions". The latter are tightly wound sticks of paper that are "sharpened" at one end for blending your charcoal marks on the paper for highlights and shadow (Chiaroscuro):

As you can see; George Rowney* very kindly provided a thumb hole in the bottom of the box so it can be used as a pallette. This pallette has not been made for many decades and is becoming increasingly rare and very collectable!

Hi Budek: Many thanks for your "love it" and kind comment. I have always worked as an Artist with my work coming in from word-of-mouth recommendations from my patrons and clients, or from exhibitions etc etc.
I have never had or needed a website but I guess I should rethink this.
I did post some of my artwork in response to just such a request as yours, but I'm afraid Hunter vetoed this and it was "taken down". It is unfair of me to refer to, or make comments about my artwork and not allow people to see some examples....... so.. what I will do (Hunters idea actually...thanks Hunter!!!) is to open a "Flickr" Account and share some of my art work images with fellow CW Members such as your good self!
I WILL post a link here and perhaps in my Profile, just as soon as I manage to get a "Flickr" Account set up. (I'll probably ask my Studio Technician as he is much better at all this sort of thing!!)
Also, sometimes I have artwork shown at the SGFA website, see my Profile for the website address.
